Street art versus advertising!

Nowadays street art is condemned but it is still free! That is probably why it is less conventional and original! On my opinion, advertising is sometimes too much submitted to the trend and fashionable concepts. Over more, I consider that advertising are a little too much venal. Sometimes, make advertising with artistic, original and unconventional concepts is more efficient to attract people and make us remember your message! That’s a way to improve the brand recognition and membership!Have a look on that awesome and great video!!

A short film exploring the relationship between art and corporate advertising in public space

Market Research – Art and advertising

Market Research – The Art and advertising Market research objectives:The survey must give broad directions to adapt better the advertising conception to a target of young people  I had realise this survey to know better what is important for young people in the publicity.

Marketing survey results:The questionnaire was administrated to people aged between 18 and 24 years old. 46 persons answered the survey “Art and Advertising”. The target really was sensitive to the Art. 85% of the respondents agree with the fact that we can consider the advertising as an Art. This result permits companies to use that way of advertising linked to a commercial purpose. The last 15% are not convinced that we can use art in advertising concept because traditionally art is not a concept related to merchandising or used as a commercial tool. However we can suppose that this part of target will be sensible to the artistic quality of the media and they will be probably more demanding.85% of the respondents agree to say that a commercial or advertisements are most effective when they are containing an artistic value. And the best ways to communicate are using humour for 80% and originality for 85%, then the message, in the third place, with 45%. We can advise companies to communicate most on the message and the company image than on the product to be efficient. In addition to aesthetic quality, the realism (25%) and modern art (23%) represent the best ways to design the advertising. We can notice that this category of young people pays attention to Pop Art concepts (45%).The best media to communicate are, in their view, the TV commercials (59%) and also bills and posters (26%). At the present time, the internet is not a good way to use influence with the target.Lastly, the 60% of females and 40% of male who participated, remember more the advertising when they are in luxury or shopping goods areas. The areas of the internet and the mobile technology are also well appreciated. We can name: Chanel and Dior, Coca-cola and Evian, and also SFR,
Orange, Sony, Canon for their TV ads. Then there are Diesel and Benetton advertisings in the fashion trade and their bill and posters communication.
Conclusion:To attract people and interest the advertising media must be really original with a humorous element. We can consider that if the company has good brand recognition the advertising will be more efficient.

Advertising and the photographic art (2)

United Colors of Benetton campaign are going to move even more to the commitment in the posters campaign. In fact, the company decided to develop a corporate communication rather than promotion. That way United Colors of Benetton diffuses unique messages all over the world. The photographer Oliviero Toscani, an Italian artist, wishes to endorse an image brand rather than products. The United Colors of Benetton’s advertising is drawing people’s attention to universal themes like racial integration, environment security, aids…On a marketing and communication point of view the photographic art strengthens the messages significance.

Advertising and the photographic art!

Photography is considered as the 7th art and that explains why we can find some examples of advertising whose are using this technical to deliver messages or even testimonies of commitment for specific causes. The most striking example to illustrate that way of advertising is probably, the entire campaign of the company United Colors of Benetton.

United Colors of Benetton uses almost exclusively posters to promote the firm.

From the beginning, the idea was to use photography and advertising to communicate on the colours whose are the bases of the Benetton’s products.

In order to endorse that concept, the creative’s have decided to show groups and people with different skin colours. And really fast, the brand was associated to a territory multiracial. Over more the different campaign are delivering messages linked to the concept of duality; like positive and negative, life and death,…

That way, everybody can observe his own interpretations like in art’s creation.

The artistic sense of advertising (2)

Designers and creators of advertising campaign are nowadays, not really considered as artists because, in people mind, their work are containing a money grabbing side.

So, how evaluate the artistic quality of those creations? Because it is impossible to deny that they have no artistic senses or values!

We have seen before that creators are inspired by famous past artists or artistic movements, like this new examples of Pop Art advertising inspired from Andy Wahrol!!

On my view, the advertising is full of artistic attractions and concepts that I would like to compare to a sub artistical culture linked with a commercial aspect and the mass consumption. Have a look on advertisings underneath!!

What is Pop Art ?  American Pop Art comes from a trend appeared with personal initiatives. This movement is linked to an interest for common objects and confidence in the power of the image. The American cradle of Pop Art is based in
New York.
The term Pop Art indicates that artistic creations are based on a popular culture how has got faith in the image. It is a culture linked up to the consumer society and we talk about artistic productions which are generally popular, short-lived, disposable, cheap, produced in masse, spiritual, sexy, ect…

The artistic sense of advertising!

The Art goes across ages and let us a sublime timeless mark! The Art captivates people’s creativness. That is why a lot of advertising companies are using past art creations to imagine their advertising campaign.

You will find underneath an example of that sort of influence!

Petit bateau Bruegel

The brand Petit Bateau took the work of Bruegel, dated from the 16th century to create an advertising. The movement idea is picked up to the town to be transposed to a playground!

Lanvin  matisse

An other example is the advertising of Lanvin. The creation team use a painting of the famous Matisse, from 1932 to suggest the lightness and the intensity of the main thing!

It exist of course a lot of others amazing examples!!

Don’t hesitate to share them with me!!
